About this site
Census2027India is an independent tracker and reference for India's Census 2027. We compile the schedule, state-wise status, methodology and official releases of the census into one navigable, fast-loading site — because the primary sources, while authoritative, are scattered across gazette PDFs, press releases and portal pages.
What we do
- Track every announced census date and phase status, state by state.
- Link every date and figure to the official release it came from — RGI, PIB or the Gazette of India.
- Explain the methodology of India's first digital census in plain language.
- Maintain UPSC-oriented reference notes and a census glossary.
- Email subscribers when key milestones happen — nothing else.
What we don't do
- We are not affiliated with the Government of India, the Ministry of Home Affairs, or the Office of the Registrar General & Census Commissioner. To participate in the census or self-enumerate, use only the official portal at censusindia.gov.in.
- We never publish projected or estimated census figures. Until the government releases a number, our pages say "data pending".
- We don't take political positions. Census 2027 touches charged topics — caste enumeration, delimitation — and our coverage reports facts and attributed positions only.
- We don't collect any personal data beyond an optional email subscription (see our privacy policy).
Who runs it
Census2027India is a project of OmniLayerX, an independent publisher of civic-data references, alongside sister sites covering census results and the caste enumeration, and the public-finance tracker govtbudget.com.
